Conducted at:   Marine Aquarium Convention of North America  -  2002   (Dallas, TX)   This test This test was conducted to indicate visual comparison of using ECO-AqualizerTM to compare both water clarity and ability to break-down organic waste particles.  Each set-up is comprised of a 4 inch acrylic cylinder with a 40 watt light attached at the top.  And a smaller 3 inch acrylic cylinder used to create a simple air stone skimmer.   Cylinders are 42 inches tall.   Both set-ups used the exact polluted water mixture, power-heads, air pumps, cork diffusers and exact flow rates.

         Normal set-up              ECO-AqualizerTM

At the top of each 3 inch cylinder is a waste collection cup.  Visual observation can easily be made to measure efficiency of protein skimming.

Cylinders in the middle with the light attached at the top are used to measure clarity.  This is measured using a light LUX meter which is placed at the bottom of each 4 inch cylinder.   Again, easy visuals can be made to measure the depth  of  light  penetration.

In this experiment, the LUX meter recorded 24% greater light readings in the ECO-AqualizerTM set-up.  (RIGHT pic)

ECO-AqualizerTM also eliminates both reflection and restrictions of light, since Hydrogen Bonds are constantly broken.
